Ascot today announces the appointment of Matthew C. Kramer as CEO, US Insurance.

Based in the company’s New York City office, Matt will lead all facets of Ascot’s US insurance operations, with direct responsibility for underwriting performance, new product development, and oversight of the further strategic development and growth of the US platform. Matt will report directly to Jonathan Zaffino, Group President, and will join Ascot later in Q1 upon the completion of his contractual obligations.

Matt will collaborate closely with Ascot’s North American leadership team to accelerate growth across the group’s specialty insurance ecosystem, including US Insurance, Bermuda (re)insurance, and Ethos Specialty, Ascot’s wholly owned MGU.

Matt joins Ascot from Arch Insurance Group where he most recently held the position of Executive Vice President. Since 2009, Matt held growing leadership responsibilities within Arch, most recently overseeing their Professional Liability and Healthcare divisions. Additionally, over the course of Matt’s 24-year career, he has held positions of increasing responsibility at Reliance National and The Hartford, underwriting a variety of executive lines, professional lines and property and casualty specialty coverages.
