Antares promotes Eddie Hughes to head of reinsurance

Antares Managing Agency has promoted Eddie Hughes to head of reinsurance, Antares at Lloyd’s, comprising Antares Managing Agency Ltd and Antares Syndicate 1274, effective immediately.

Hughes brings more than 17 years of experience to the role and will report to Jim Lye, active underwriter, Antares Managing Agency Ltd.

He previously served as class underwriter, marine and energy reinsurance, having joined Antares in 2014 as marine excess of loss deputy underwriter.

This follows a series of recent key appointments for the Syndicate, following the hires of Guy Wright, Marine Liability Class Underwriter and Samantha Dias, Management & Transaction Liability Class Underwriter.

Lye said: “Eddie was the natural choice to lead our reinsurance teams, execute our underwriting strategy and navigate the challenges presented by current market conditions, while capitalising on the opportunities.”
