Convex’s former chief underwriting officer in Bermuda joins the reinsurance broker to lead its Pacific business.
Guy Carpenter has announced the appointment of Ben Savill as CEO of Pacific, effective 1 April, 2024.
Savill (pictured) will be based in Sydney and report to Tony Gallagher, CEO of Guy Carpenter Asia Pacific.
He was previously chief underwriting officer (CUO) of Convex Insurance in Bermuda.
Before that, was group CUO of Fidelis, and head of North American treaty for Amlin.
In his new role, Savill will lead broking in the Pacific region for Guy Carpenter, the reinsurance broking arm of Marsh McLennan.
His predecessor, Jeff Saper, who has served as CEO for the Pacific region since 2019, will take on the role of Head of GC Fac, Asia Pacific, and will relocate to Hong Kong.
He will succeed Luc Morement, who will assume the role as Regional Sales Leader, Asia Pacific.
Both positions will be effective from 1 July 2024.
