Already performing the role in an interim basis, Schrader has been with Lloyd’s since 2000.
Lloyd’s of London has announced Claire Schrader as the re/insurance market’s new general counsel, responsible for managing legal risk at Lloyd’s.
It is a role she has been performing on an interim basis since August 2023.
The job comes with a seat she will continue to hold as a member of the Lloyd’s executive committee.
Schrader is a qualified solicitor, with more than 20 years’ experience in law and the insurance sector.
She has been with Lloyd’s since 2000, focused on insurance law and regulatory frameworks.
“During Claire’s time at Lloyd’s she has built a strong reputation among her colleagues in the corporation and throughout the market as a trusted legal adviser,” said John Neal, Lloyd’s CEO.
“She is a great role model for our future leaders, and I’m extremely pleased to confirm her permanently in a role which is critical to Lloyd’s delivering on its strategic priorities,” Neal added.
