DWIC 2022 was a resounding success and we are all still talking about it
The buzz at the conference was palpable from the minute it was officially opened by DIFC CEO Arif Amiri on 9 March. Hosted for the first time at the Ritz Carlton in the heart of the financial district, the opportunity to finally meet clients and discuss business in a face-to-face setting after two long years of uncertainty was a joyous occasion.
What was also clear from our many expert speakers and roundtable panellists was that the industry has not been resting on its laurels.
The insurance and reinsurance industry continues to grow at a rapid pace, buoyed by economic recovery and digitisation trends, which have accelerated over the past 24 months.
There has been plenty of innovation, from wearable devices in healthcare to the formation of new insurance vehicles (including the DIFC’s first syndicate-in-a-box).
From the region and beyond, re/insurance carriers, brokers, insurtechs and service providers are collaborating like never before to overcome emerging challenges and make the most of opportunities.
This report offers some of the highlights from the keynote presentation, panel discussion and plenary sessions at DWIC.
We would like to sincerely thank our gold sponsors Africa Re, Chedid Re, CME, QBE and Tysers, silver sponsors, our partners at the DIFC, and all of the delegates for their contribution to making DWIC 2022 such an invigorating event.
And we look forward to seeing you again next year.
