Guy Carpenter has appointed Claude Yoder managing director and global chief innovation and product development officer.

Yoder took up the post, based in New York, on 18 September. He reports into managing direct and head of global strategic advisory Rob Bentley.

Yoder steps into his role from his last position of Marsh head of global analytics. Prior to joining Marsh, Yoder spent nearly 20 years in actuarial, underwriting and innovation roles for several insurance carriers.

While heading the analytics team at Marsh, the firm developed a suite of more than 20 real-time decisional analytics and benchmarking solutions delivered through mobile technology.

Commenting on Yoder’s experience in the field, Bentley said: “His unique experience developing powerful, innovative insurance products and risk management applications will help Guy Carpenter develop and deliver value-added solutions that will create opportunity and drive profitable growth for our clients.”
